Well....I got my December Nail Treat bag and all can say is WOW! What an extra special treat we have this month. It's got everything glittery in it and lots of nail art products too. I put the products to the test and created a few sets with them to help inspire you.
ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD X CRITICS CHOICE
This is the number 1 glitter everyone wants at Christmas! It's a chunky iridescent gold with smaller flecks in to give it depth, it shines so much especially under spotlights. It is great over any colour or just on its own as a full glitter nail.
I love critics choice especially for toes! A lot of my clients upgrade to polished toes/pedicure and this is great for matching up, even though it's a polish the glitter goes un-compromised and is just as full of glitter as it's Gelish counterpart.
TOP TIP - To quickly create a full glitter nail with your Gelish All that glitters is gold is to decant a few drops onto a piece of foil and use a gel brush to apply! (See my pictures for examples)
GELISH ARTIFICIAL NAIL REMOVER
This is a fantastic product for ensuring the health of your clients nails, I have in the past used pure acetone and wraps to soak gel polish off and found clients nails to become brittle, ridged and dry. Since I switched to the Gelish artificial nail remover I have only had nice healthy looking nails.
TOP TIP - for extra dry hands during winter apply cuticle oil before wrapping for Gelish removal, it speeds up the process and keeps clients skin nourished.
This is revolutionary and I love it! Nail art/caviar beads have been around for such a long time but can be fiddly and not worth the hassle sometimes! But the pen makes them so much easier to use and designs are getting more creative in the usage of them.
TOP TIP - if using with Gelish set your beads with structure gel, this way they will stay on longer and won't be as raised for the more 'heavy handed' client.
This was one of the main things I was dying to try, I was forever giving up on striping tape because it was so fiddly! But it is so much easier and more organised now, the colours that come with it are brilliant, such a good, varied selection.
TOP TIP - cut your striping tape slightly shorter than the nail, meaning there is no overhang and it doesn't go directly to the edge of the nail, this will prevent it from interfering with your capping and stop it from potentially peeling off, I applied to a cleansed colour coat.
This is a favourite of mine and has been so popular with clients as it is on trend with many celebrities! What I like about the Nail Harmony one is it is top quality, for a fraction of the price I have used from other companies.
TOP TIP - use over a bright coral for a rose gold look! Apply your colours and TIO as usual then dry wipe with a Gelish sponge or make up sponge (no cleanse!) and using a make up applicator rub a small amount in in circular motions until you achieve a full chrome and then TIO x2.
ATJ MAPLE SPICE CUTICLE OIL
I am so pleased to be one of the first to try this new scent! It is so fresh and festive, with a hint of cinnamon and cherry.
TOP TIP - the range of hand and foot cream, cuticle balm, cuticle oil in maple spice and ATJ Louise's from Riches to Rubies is available as a gift set at around £10 for retail value of £20
